LANDOVER — With a half left to play, the Washington Redskins have been surprisingly competitive against the New England Patriots.
The Patriots lead 12-7 at halftime, but the Redskins have made multiple stops in the red zone to limit the damage. Washington has also generated pressure, sacking quarterback Tom Brady.
While the defense has returned to form, the Redskins offense has struggled — save for a 65-yard touchdown run from wide receiver Steven Sims.
Quarterback Colt McCoy, tabbed on Friday to be the starter, has been sacked four times and has only 54 yards with an interception.
