Williams could have collected the remaining $5.1 million of his $10.8 million salary while on NFI, but teams have the option to withhold the salary under the league’s collective bargaining agreement. According to ESPN, teams have paid roughly 35 to 40% of the salaries to other players on NFI this season.

Last week, Williams revealed a cancer diagnosis for a tumor he says wasn’t properly treated while with the Redskins.
