INDIANAPOLIS — The Washington Redskins are one of the three teams who have shown the most interest in trading for Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown, ESPN reported late Friday.
Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said earlier this week the team would explore trading Brown after the star wideout requested a trade.
The Redskins, meanwhile, have acknowledged their need to upgrade at the position.
“We’ve got some talent, it just hasn’t came out,” senior vice president of player personnel Doug Williams said. “We’ve got to do a better job at the receiver spot, but we’ve got to find a way to get it to them. … Everybody knows that we probably need a little receiver help.”
Josh Doctson led the Redskins’ wideouts last season with 44 catches for 532 yards.
The Oakland Raiders and the Tennesee Titans have also shown interest in Brown, who had 104 receptions for 1,297 yards last year.
The three teams that have shown the most interest in wide receiver Antonio Brown to date are the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans, per league sources. Thus, the battle for Brown could develop into a battle between Grudens, Jon and Jay.
