TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say an Arizona man has been sentenced to more than 2 1/2 years in prison for attacking a pregnant woman with a hammer.
They say 30-year-old Eli Lawrence Manuel will have to serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.
Manuel was accused of hitting the woman on the forehead and stomach during the July 2017 incident.
He pleaded guilty three months ago.
Manuel was recently sentenced to 31 months in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon at the Tohono O’odham Nation Indian Reservation.
Tribal police and the FBI investigated the case.
