NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Louisiana State Police have identified a 42-year-old New Orleans man as the motorist shot by a state trooper after driving the wrong way on Bourbon Street.

A statement released Saturday said Eric Kullander was charged with resisting an officer, aggravated flight and reckless operation.

State Police said troopers were helping close traffic lanes on Bourbon Street Thursday night when they saw a car driving toward pedestrians.

Police say the driver had made an illegal turn, and failed to comply with attempts to stop the car.

The driver was shot once by a trooper. The trooper wasn’t injured.
