AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - A man was critically hurt after being shot by an Auburn police officer who was responding to reports that he was throwing items at cars Friday night.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The officer was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they first approached the man acting erratically in a grocery store parking lot before it turned into an escalating physical fight that resulted in gunfire.
