TALBOTTON, Ga. (AP) - Two pit bulls that mauled a Georgia woman and fatally wounded her Siberian Husky are set to be euthanized.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports owner Faye Evans agreed in court on Thursday to euthanize her two dogs, which the county has designated as “vicious.” Seventy-year-old Nellie Ralat says she and her dog Maggie were walking past Evans’ home on Nov. 23 when they were attacked by the unrestrained dogs.
She said a truck drove by, disrupting the attack that disfigured her face, scalp and ears and broke her wrist. The distracted dogs then attacked Maggie, and Ralat crawled in a roadway, where a passer-by ran the attacking dogs off and called 911.
A judge has ordered Evans to pay $400 in fines for offenses including letting dogs run loose.
