YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a man to serve more than 27 years in prison for the 2017 murder of his wife near Yakima.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports Jaime Munguia Alejandre was sentenced Friday in the death of Maria Gonzalez-Castillo.
In December, a jury convicted Alejandre of second-degree murder for killing Gonzalez-Castillo at their Granger home, dragging her body out a window into the backyard where he dismembered and burned her remains.

Authorities say deputies found the woman’s body after receiving a call from the 37-year-old woman’s teenage children, who said she was missing.
Investigators say the teens told them their parents argued the night before.
Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins said previously that Gonzalez-Castillo died from a blow to her head.
Superior Court Judge Gayle Harthcock rejected a defense motion to dismiss the case for a lack of evidence.
