The Maryland Terrapins have a difficult game looming Monday night, but right now, everyone recognizes they’re on a roll.

Maryland (16-3, 7-1 Big Ten) was ranked No. 13 in the new Associated Press poll that came out Monday afternoon, six spots up from the 19th ranking they held last week.

Last week, Maryland beat Wisconsin at home 64-60 Monday and traveled to Ohio State on Friday, where the Terrapins won 75-61.

The program has not been ranked this high since earning the No. 10 ranking in late February of 2016.

Moreover, NCAA.com’s Andy Katz dubbed Maryland his “Team of the Week” in his weekly column.

“(Terrapins coach) Mark Turgeon has done a sensational job developing young talent. He lost a few games early but it was worth going through the growing pains for what has transpired,” Katz wrote.

Maryland plays at No. 6 Michigan State on Monday. The winner will take over sole possession of first place in the conference; either the Spartans will remain unbeaten at 8-0 in the Big Ten, or the Terrapins will leapfrog them and move to 8-1.
