BURLINGTON, N.J. (AP) - Investigators say a fast-moving house fire that killed a southern New Jersey man is not considered suspicious.
But it’s still not clear what sparked Thursday’s blaze in Burlington Township.
The fire broke out around 3 p.m. and was brought under control in about 45 minutes.
Emergency responders found 62-year-old Ernest Opdyke in the bathroom when they entered the single-story home. He was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.
Authorities say Opdyke was alone in the home when the fire broke out.
The fire is being investigated by township police and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
