Beto O’Rourke will have a one-on-one conversation with Oprah Winfrey in New York next month, the former talk show host announced Friday.

Mr. O’Rourke will be one of several guests on Ms. Winfrey’s “Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Time Square,” along with Bradley Cooper, Michael B. Jordan and Melinda Gates.

“In one-on-one conversations, Winfrey will discuss how each of the guests created an impact and shifted the conversation in their respective fields of entertainment, politics and culture in the last year,” the announcement read.

The live event will air during the afternoon on Feb. 2.

Mr. O’Rourke gained a surge of enthusiasm during the midterms as he challenged GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas for his Senate seat. Though the former Democratic congressman ultimately lost the race, the excitement hasn’t faded as his supporters are urging him to join the 2020 presidential primary.

Ms. Winfrey also took a foray into politics during the midterms, as she campaigned for Stacey Abrams in Georgia, who lost her bid to be Georgia’s governor after a drawn-out ballot battle.
