MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A judge has ordered a mental health evaluation for a former New Hampshire school principal accused of fabricating a story about being assaulted in her home.

Police say 39-year-old Sarah Lynch is charged with making a false report and falsifying evidence. WMUR-TV reports police say they found inconsistencies investigating the assault she reported last month, including investigators determining a window was broken by a bat found in Lynch’s home

Lynch’s attorneys say they are concerned the criminal charges could affect a civil wrongful termination case she is pursuing against the Manchester School District. Lynch claims she was wrongfully fired last fall from her position as an elementary school principal.
