MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) - Officials say a man and his dog have died in a South Carolina condo fire.
News outlets report that the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office says 30-year-old Jacob Brandon Elliott died in the Monday fire in Murrells Inlet. Deputy Coroner Paulette Radcliffe says Elliott died of asphyxia due to carbon monoxide.
Crews responded to the fire before 5 a.m. Officials say the fire was coming from the back of the condo building when firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
