It’s perhaps the most famous rivalry in college basketball, but there’s a new level of excitement this year when Duke and North Carolina meet.
When No. 1 Duke hosts No. 8 North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium Wednesday night, available tickets are going for $2,500 and up, ESPN reported. That’s comparable to the cheapest ticket for Super Bowl LIII, reportedly $2,674.
The star power of freshmen Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish have made the Blue Devils the story of the year. This is the first time they will face the Tar Heels.
Williamson, widely expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, is averaging 22.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.9 blocks per game. He’s attracted the likes of Jay-Z and LeBron James to attend Duke road games, the former going to Pittsburgh and the latter to Charlottesville, Virginia, to witness Williamson and Duke in person.
Who knows which famous person might be seated courtside for Duke-Carolina?
