JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Saying “I do” could become slightly more expensive in Mississippi.

Legislators are considering a bill that would add $15 to the cost of a marriage license. The current cost is $20, and the proposal would set it at $35.

Senate Bill 2043 passed the state Senate after little discussion Tuesday. Several members voted against it.

The bill moves to the House for more work.
