SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A 2-year-old boy has died after falling into the Spokane River west of Nine Mile Falls in rural Spokane County.
The boy was playing with his dogs near his home on Sunday afternoon when the accident occurred.
The Spokesman-Review reports the boy’s father and neighbors pulled the child out of the icy water within a couple of minutes, but it was too late.
Officials say the boy died at a local hospital.
