DANNEMORA, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating the cause of a house fire in the Adirondacks that left one man dead and another man hospitalized with burns.
State Police say the fire broke out around 2 a.m. Sunday at a home in Lyon Mountain, near the northern edge of the Adirondack Park.
First responders found 22-year-old Codi Smithers dead in an upstairs bedroom and his father, 49-year-old Christopher Smithers, with burns to his torso, face and hands.
The elder Smithers has been hospitalized for treatment.
Lyon Mountain is a community located within the town of Dannemora.
