Half of the NCAA College Cup is made up of local teams.

No. 1 Virginia and No. 3 Georgetown advanced to the College Cup, the men’s soccer equivalent of the Final Four, to be played this Friday and Sunday in Cary, North Carolina.

Virginia beat SMU on a golden goal in overtime to advance to the semifinal round, where the Cavaliers will face No. 4 Wake Forest.

The Hoyas topped Washington 2-1 on Saturday to secure their spot in the College Cup. They’ll take on No. 7 Stanford in the other semifinal, so there’s a chance Georgetown and Virginia could meet in the final.
