The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island remains the same this week as last week as residents prepare for Christmas driving, AAA Northeast reported Monday.
Self-serve, regular is selling for an average of $2.50 per gallon, 4 cents lower than the national average but exactly the same as the Rhode Island price one year ago.
AAA also reported a range of 26 cents for regular, from a low of $2.39 to a high of $2.65 per gallon.
AAA forecasts that 104 million Americans will travel by car this week, which has caused the average per-gallon cost to rise slightly in same areas, but a spokesman says the jumps aren’t big and won’t last long or linger past the holiday season.
