Washington Redskins punter Tress Way and guard Brandon Scherff were voted to the 2020 Pro Bowl, the league announced Tuesday.
In addition to Way and Scherff being named starters, safety Landon Collins was chosen to be a first alternate and defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis was named a fourth alternate.
Scherff was selected for the third time in his career after making the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2017. However, the news comes the same day that the Redskins placed the right guard on injured reserve with shoulder and elbow injuries, ending his season and potentially his career in Washington, as he’s a pending free agent.
It is Way’s first Pro Bowl trip. Way leads the NFL with 49.4 yards per punt and has pinned 26 punts inside the 20-yard line, compared to just three touchbacks.
The Baltimore Ravens set a record with 12 players picked for the Pro Bowl. Lamar Jackson led all players with 704,699 fan votes, almost 165,000 votes more than the second-leading vote-getter, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
