Seems like Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner is going to miss his old teammate.

News broke Wednesday night that third baseman Anthony Rendon joined the Los Angeles Angels on a seven-year, $245 million deal in free agency. Turner and Rendon spent most of the last five seasons together on the left side of Washington’s infield.

Though Anthony Rendon’s departure was generally expected after the Nationals spent the same amount of money to re-sign Stephen Strasburg, that doesn’t make it easier to swallow for fans — or teammates.

Turner tweeted a video of himself wordlessly digging through a drawer to find a T-shirt with Rendon’s face and the words “Anthony” and “My favorite player” — then dropping it on the floor and giving it a single, solemn kick.
