Maryland Terrapins sophomore receiver Jeshaun Jones tore his left ACL at practice Monday and will miss the upcoming season, the team announced.

As a freshman, Jones caught 22 passes for 288 yards and five touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns. He was a three-star recruit out of Fort Myers, Florida.

Jones will be given a medical redshirt and won’t lose a year of eligibility.

Without Jones, new quarterback Josh Jackson will still be able to throw to senior DJ Turner, sophomore Dontay Demus and incoming freshmen such as Isaiah Hazel.
