CHATOM, Ala. (AP) - A judge is refusing bond for a south Alabama man and his first wife, who are charged with murder in the slaying of another of the man’s estranged wives.

A Washington County judge made the decision Monday during a hearing in Chatom for 42-year-old Samuel Sullivan and 44-year-old Jenny Sullivan.

A prosecutor says both people could be a flight risk if freed from jail.

The two are charged with capital murder and kidnapping in the death earlier this year of Terri Sullivan, who was a nurse. She and Samuel Sullivan were going through a divorce when she disappeared in January.

Terri Sullivan’s body was found in a burned-out rental car in March.

A judge has issued an order barring anyone involved in the case from commenting outside court.
