LOGANSPORT, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say two children have died in a northern Indiana house fire, and a woman jumped from the home’s second story with a baby to escape it.
Logansport Assistant Fire Chief Mark Strong says firefighters pulled the two children from the second floor of the burning house on Logansport’s south side shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, but the children died at a hospital. Their ages were not immediately available.
He says the woman and the baby also have been taken to hospitals. Their names were not immediately released.
Strong says the fire appears to have started on the first floor and is believed to be accidental, possibly caused by an electrical outlet box.
