AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Police in Colorado say an officer shot a man while attempting to arrest him on a warrant for a domestic violence charge.

Aurora Police said the shooting happened Wednesday evening.

Officer Ken Forrest said the man was armed. He would not discuss what kind of weapon the man had.



Forrest said the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. He did not have any information on the man’s condition.

Forrest said he would not provide details about how the man was shot or the domestic violence charge.

Names of the officer and the man were not released.

Forrest said no officers were injured. The officer who shot the man was placed on leave.

The department said body-worn cameras captured the shooting and department leaders had reviewed the footage.
