The U.S. Embassy in Cairo issued a warning Tuesday morning after a bomb went off near the premises.
On Twitter, embassy officials announced they were “aware of a reported incident” and cautioned those nearby to avoid the area. U.S. citizens were told to not journey to the embassy and contact them via email with questions.

Reuters reported that Egyptian authorities already arrested the man responsible for the explosion. Sources told them that there were no casualties.
Security officials say the incident is still under investigation. As of now, they know the device was found just outside the walls of the heavily guarded embassy and ambassador’s residence.
