CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Judicial Investigation Commission has filed a motion to prevent its chairman from having to testify in an impeachment trial in the state Senate.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports the commission’s attorneys filed a motion to squash a subpoena issued to Hancock Circuit Judge Ronald Wilson, compelling him to testify next week in state Supreme Court Justice Beth Walker’s impeachment trial.

The board of managers in the House of Delegates issued the subpoena with the intent to have Wilson talk about an investigation into working lunches at the court, particularly in regard to Walker, Chief Justice Margaret Workman and former Justice Robin Davis. The motion says the House has already been provided with evidence.
