Shaw’s Tavern, a D.C. restaurant and bar, apologized for promoting their bottomless mimosas special in connection to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

In a statement on social media, Shaw’s Tavern explained that the special is something they typically offer with their breakfast and lunch menu. They opened early Thursday in order to “provide a place for those who wanted to watch the hearing.”

“It was an oversight on our part given the very serious circumstances of today’s hearing and in no way did we intend to offend anyone or make light of the situation,” the statement read. “Shaw’s Tavern stands with the victims.”

The restaurant plans on donating all the proceeds from Thursday to RAINN, an American anti-sexual assault organization.
