MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee say a 15-year-old girl escaped unharmed after her ex-boyfriend poured gasoline on her and threatened to set her and her home on fire.
Rutherford County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Foote says the 17-year-old ex-boyfriend forced his way into the girl’s home Saturday and demanded $300 that she couldn’t pay. News outlets cited authorities as saying the boy poured gasoline around the house, lit a lighter and held it near the girl’s gasoline-soaked T-shirt.
Officials say the girl’s grandmother and another person were also at home at the time and weren’t hurt.
The 17-year-old and a 27-year-old man with him left after the grandmother dialed 911. Authorities say the two were arrested on charges including attempted aggravated arson.
