NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a 16-year-old boy died of a gunshot to the head on a Brooklyn basketball court.
The teenager was playing basketball Friday afternoon at the playground in the Brownsville neighborhood when a bullet struck him.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the violence. The youth may not have been the target of the shooting.

He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
The teenager’s name was not immediately released, and there were no suspects.
