The San Francisco 49ers will get their franchise quarterback back in plenty of time for 2019, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jimmy Garoppolo has no other knee damage beyond his torn ACL and is on a six-to-eight-month timetable to return to the field, Schefter said. Training camps before the 2019 season are more than nine months away from now.

Garoppolo suffered the injury in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

San Francisco is sticking with C.J. Beathard at quarterback in the meantime. Beathard is the grandson of Hall of Famer and former Washington Redskins general manager Bobby Beathard.
