FRYEBURG, Maine (AP) - Officials say a man suffered a head injury during a competition and had to be airlifted from the Fryeburg Fair.
Fair officials say the 59-year-old man was injured when a horse stepped on him during a pulling event Friday night.
Officials tell the Sun Journal that the man was conscious when medical crews arrived; he was flown to Central Maine Medical Center as a precaution.
The man’s identity wasn’t released.
Pulling competitions feature horses pulling weights behind them. Both ox and horse pulling events were held at the fair Friday.
