The Washington Redskins are all in to stay atop the NFC East.
The Redskins traded a fourth-round pick Tuesday to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, according to multiple reports. The move gives Washington another quality defender for a defense that has carried them to a 5-2 record.
This season, Clinton-Dix has yet to miss a snap. In seven games, he’s grabbed three interceptions and forced one fumble. Drafted 21st overall in 2014, he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016.

Clinton-Dix, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, now figures to start opposite of safety D.J. Swearinger. The Redskins also now have the league’s two highest-graded safeties based on Pro Football Focus’ metrics. Like Clinton-Dix, Swearinger has also played every down this season.
The trade also combats the earlier deals made by the Redskins’ division rivals. Last week, the Dallas Cowboys dealt a first-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for wide receiver Amari Cooper, and on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Golden Tate from the Detroit Lions for a third-round pick.
The Redskins have allowed just 322.4 yards per game this season, fourth in the NFL.
