CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A man accused of fatally shooting a suspected romantic rival will remain jailed until his murder trial.

Dezmenn Warren waived his right to contest his detention during a court hearing Tuesday. The 30-year-old Camden man didn’t give a reason for his decision, but said he made it after speaking with his attorney.

Warren is charged in the Sept. 18 drive-by shooting of 31-year-old Camden resident Donte Brown, who was sitting on a parked bicycle when he was shot.

Authorities have said Warren believed that Brown was having a romantic relationship with the mother of Warren’s children. They say Warren fired three shots at Brown, who was struck by one shot and died a short time later at a hospital.

Warren was arrested eight days after the shooting.
