JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the contractor killed in an accident at the Jamestown landfill.
The patrol says 65-year-old Danny Howard, of Grand Forks, was working at the landfill Saturday afternoon when a dump truck and a payloader struck him. He was pronounced dead at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
The operator of the payloader was not hurt. Officials say the payloader was attempting to push start the unoccupied dump truck. Howard was in front of the dump truck when he was struck by both vehicles.
