RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Latest on Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign visit to Nevada (all times local):

1:25 p.m.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders criticized President Donald Trump and repeated his call for free college tuition, a $15 hourly minimum wage and a “Medicare-for-all” health care plan while campaigning for Nevada Rep. Jacky Rosen.

Sanders and Rosen appeared at an early voting rally at the University of Nevada, Reno on Thursday. They planned to hold another rally in Las Vegas Thursday evening.

Sanders used his brief speech in Reno to decry the GOP tax law passed last year and urged the crowd of about 1,000 mostly college students to vote early and support Rosen, who is challenging incumbent Republican Sen. Dean Heller.

The race is one of Democrats’ best chances to flip a senate seat but the party has slim chances to take control of the Senate in November.

Nevada Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen is bringing in some help from former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders as she tries to energize Nevada voters in her race for U.S. Senate.

Rosen is rallying with Sanders on Thursday morning in Reno and plans to hold a second rally with the Vermont senator Thursday evening in Las Vegas.

Rosen is in a tight race challenging incumbent Republican Sen. Dean Heller. Heller’s the only Republican seeking re-election in a state Democrat Hillary Clinton won two years ago but he’s won statewide races before and has more name recognition across the state than Rosen.

She’s a first-term lawmaker from the Las Vegas area who’s working to raise her profile in northern Nevada’s Washoe County, a swing county that includes Reno.

Sanders swept the area during Nevada’s 2016 Democratic presidential caucus.
