Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake on Wednesday called on President Trump to soften his rhetoric toward the media and political rivals in light of the bombs sent to several prominent Democrats.

“Words matter,” Mr. Flake told CNN’s Chris Cuomo. “And particularly when they are spoken by those at the top of government. What the president says matters, and if he were to take a more civil tone, it would make a difference.”

The list of intended targets revealed Wednesday included the Clintons, the Obamas, CNN and reportedly Rep. Maxine Waters.

In Florida, packages were delivered to two offices for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

George Soros, a prominent donor to Democratic causes, was also sent a pipe bomb on Monday.

None of the devices hurt anyone.

Authorities in New York indicated that the incidents in their state seem to be connected.
