NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - An attorney for a Tennessee man charged in the death of his 5-year-old son says the man has been found mentally fit for trial.

The Tennessean reports 28-year-old Joseph Ray Daniels of Dickson was transferred last week to a maximum security facility in Nashville. He was at a mental health facility for 30 days to evaluate his mental competency.

Daniels was arrested in April and charged with criminal homicide. He’s pleaded not guilty and blames Joe Clyde Daniels’ death on his wife, 27-year-old Krystal Nicole Daniels. She’s charged with aggravated child neglect or endangerment.

Investigators say Daniels admitted to fatally beating Joe, who was autistic and non-verbal, for urinating on the floor. They say he led authorities to places he said Joe was buried, but the body hasn’t been found.
