Gas prices dip slightly and reach lowest point since April

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gasoline prices have dipped slightly in Rhode Island.

AAA Northeast reported Monday that its weekly price survey found self-serve, regular selling for an average of $2.82 per gallon, down 2 cents from the previous week.

That price is 3 cents lower than the national average of $2.85, but 24 cents per gallon higher than the in-state price a year ago.

AAA Northeast says gas prices in Rhode Island are at their lowest point since the end of April due to stable gasoline inventories and lower demand.

AAA found self-serve selling for as low as $2.66 per gallon and as high as $2.99.
