VICTORVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have identified a San Bernardino County deputy who fatally shot a woman after they say she drove her car toward him.
The sheriff’s department says Deputy Jaime Pulido shot 36-year-old Lajuana Phillips on Oct. 2 near a Victorville used-car lot.
The department says Phillips became angry after going to the lot to complain about a car she had bought, punching one man and threatening to kill employees.

The department says Phillips became uncooperative when Pulido asked her about a warrant. They say Pulido pepper-sprayed Phillips to force her out of her car but she began driving toward him.
That’s when he shot her.
Department spokeswoman Cindy Bachman tells KTLA-TV that Pulido hasn’t been placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure involving officer-involved shootings at police departments. It’s unclear why.
