EAST GRANBY, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut say a 15-year-old boy who brandished a fake gun on a school bus last month and caused a lockdown at schools in East Granby is now facing charges.

The boy, who is not being identified due to his age, is charged with brandishing a facsimile firearm, first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. Police say he pulled out the fake gun while on a bus ride home from East Granby High School.

State police say the event later led to a lockdown at the local high school and middle school while troopers searched the high school.

The suspect is expected to appear in juvenile court on Oct. 9.
