CARO, Mich. (AP) - A judge says more than $6 million in assets must be returned to a Michigan doctor who was acquitted of running a pill mill at his clinics.

The Saginaw News says Dr. Joseph Oesterling last year was acquitted of running a criminal enterprise. He was accused of excessively prescribing medicine through his clinics in Caro, Saginaw and Mount Pleasant.

Oesterling’s attorney, Ronald Chapman II, says a Tuscola County judge on Sept. 25 ordered authorities to return assets that had been seized. They include five vehicles, real estate and more than two dozen bank accounts.
