President Obama’s former campaign manager Jim Messina complained Monday that Sen. Elizabeth’s Warren’s DNA results will distract from Democratic midterm campaigning.

Ms. Warren publicly released DNA test results that concluded there was “strong evidence” she had a Native American ancestor tracing back a range of six to 10 generations. If accurate, this would make the Massachusetts senator anywhere from 3 percent to .09 percent Native American.

The test results come as a dramatic pushback against President Trump’s “Pocahontas” insults and arguments that her claims of a Cherokee heritage are false.

Though critics are now pointing to how distant Ms. Warren’s Native American ancestor is on her family tree to prove they were right all along.
