DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) - Two men convicted in the kidnapping and killing of a Massachusetts man have been sentenced to prison.
The Enterprise of Brockton reports that a judge Thursday sentenced James Feeney to life in prison after he was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder and other charges. Scott Morrison was sentenced to 25 to 30 years in prison after he was convicted of offenses including involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say Feeney planned to kidnap 37-year-old James Robertson in 2014 after Robertson began dating his ex-girlfriend. Authorities say Morrison and another man posed as constables with the help of former police officer in order to kidnap Robertson from his parents’ Avon home.
