ALBION, Ind. (AP) - Northeastern Indiana police have apprehended a man who was mistakenly released from a county jail earlier this week.

Thirty-five-year-old Charles Lee Wiedman was taken into custody Thursday morning at a home in Kendallville and returned to the Noble County Jail in Albion, about 25 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.

WANE-TV reports that Wiedman was jailed on an auto theft charge when a court approved his early release from jail. But sheriff’s officials say he was “incorrectly” released from jail on Tuesday, two weeks earlier than the court’s order.
