ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - State police have captured a woman suspected of fleeing a traffic stop near Albany and driving the wrong way on a highway while eluding troopers.

Police say troopers stopped a vehicle near Thruway Exit 23 around 4:45 a.m. Friday. As troopers arrested a 34-year-old Proctor, Vermont man on drug charges, a woman jumped behind the wheel and sped off.

The vehicle was later spotted near the Adirondack Northway’s Exit 18 at Glens Falls. Troopers say a 27-year-old woman drove the car north in the southbound lanes with police in pursuit before abandoning the vehicle behind a business. As troopers searched for her, they found her in another vehicle driven by a 32-year-old woman, also from Proctor.
