PLATTEVILLE, Colo. (AP) - The Latest on a car-train collision in northern Colorado (all times local):
11:45 a.m.
Two female passengers are dead after their car was hit by a Union Pacific freight train at a rural crossing in northern Colorado.
Their Nissan Altima was hit just before 6 a.m. Tuesday near Platteville at a crossing that has a stop sign but no crossing arms.
Platteville police Chief Carl Dwyer says one witness said the car didn’t appear to stop.
A spokeswoman for Union Pacific, Kristen South, told The Denver Post that the train blared its horns 15 seconds before arriving at the crossing.
The names and ages of those killed haven’t been released yet.

Two people were killed when a freight train struck a car at a rural crossing in northern Colorado.
The Colorado State Patrol says the collision was reported around 6 a.m. Tuesday. No information about the victims has been released.
The crossing when the collision happened as a stop sign but does not have crossing arms.
Platteville police are investigating.
