COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - State prosecutors say they have broken up a gang involved in a number of crimes in South Carolina, including the killing of a fellow gang member while they thought they were attacking a rival gang.
State Attorney General Alan Wilson said Thursday that the eight members of the Bloods gang were involved in shooting at people and stealing cars in Lexington, Newberry and Richland counties.
Wilson says seven gang members planned to shoot a member of a rival gang and fired into a group of people outside a Columbia apartment in April 2016, but struck and killed a member of their own gang instead.
