FLORIDA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say Florida police officers shot and wounded a man whose car flipped off a road into shallow water after he grabbed an officer’s stun gun.

Miami-Dade police say witnesses helped the man Thursday after his car careened into the water just north of the Florida Keys. The Miami Herald reports that the man tried to leave the accident and was uncooperative with a responding state wildlife officer.

When police arrived, they say, the man grabbed an officer’s Taser and pointed it at him. That’s when the man was shot. It’s unclear if one or both officers fired.

The man’s name wasn’t released. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities haven’t released the race of the officers or the man who was shot.
