ALAKANUK, Alaska (AP) - A rural Alaska man who fired shots into a home was subdued when a person inside fired a shotgun through the front door, striking the shooter in the legs.
Alaska State Troopers say 52-year-old Leroy Patrick of Alakanuk (ah-LAK-ah-nuk) was treated for injuries and arrested on assault and weapons charges.
Troopers early Saturday took a call of an active shooter in Alakanuk, a village 162 miles (260 kilometers) northwest of Bethel.

Investigators say Patrick fired a shot into a house, stepped into an enclosed porch and fired more shots from a semi-automatic rifle, all while shouting at a family of three inside.
Bullet fragments struck a man inside. While on the floor, he grabbed a shotgun and fired once through the door, striking Patrick.
Troopers say alcohol was a factor in the assault.
